Kate Colleran is a fabric and quilt pattern designer. She has been teaching and designing quilts for over 19 years. Her quilt patterns are known for their complete, easy to follow instructions with an eclectic design style; inspired by traditional elements and put together with a modern twist. She has had quilts in many quilt magazines, has online classes on both Craftsy and Quilting Daily and has co-written articles for American Quilt Retailer.
Kate has taught at quilt shops, for guilds and at national quilt shows and is the designer of the popular Braid and Mini Braid Templates. She co-authored the book, Smash Your Precut Stash. Her first digital fabric line that she designed, Blooming, came out in August with Suite B Fabrics of Island Batik. Kate’s first, designed by her batik line, Paisley Got Mod, is in Island Batik's Spring/Summer 22 catalog and recently shipped to fabric stores. It is also available online at Missouri Star Quilting.
On her website, you can find her patterns, a few tools she likes and her blog which is filled with lots of great information. She has a series of posts called Exploring the Basics with each post having tips on an aspect about quilting. You can also sign up for her newsletter and get a free quilt pattern!
Kate loves working with quilters, cherishes her time spent on designing and her business goal is simple: to help you make a quilt. Kate – we thank you for your support and involvement with Arapahoe County Quilters.
